Default Scrambler 500 compared to Scrambler 500 HO

BigBadScram and Famr are right. When the Scrambler 500 came out in 1997 they were pretty "slow" for a 500. To help sales out they put the H.O. motor in the Scrambler 500s in 1998, along with front wheel shaft drive and concentric drive in the rear. In 1998 they only made 800 Scrambler 500's. Ever since 1998, all Scrambler 500's are H.O.

Offroader is correct 97 was the only year for a non-HO Scrambler. I have a 98, this was the first year for the HO motor and it will totally smoke a non-HO scrambler 500. In fact a Wolverne will edge out a non-HO Scrambler, not to say that the Wolverne is slow but compared to a 400 or 500 HO Scrambler they are not in the same league.
