It's not about agreeing or not. She should have never done it on TV in another country!!!
But she will get hers, radio stations are boycotting them, and some stores are pulling their albums

ftwflh,
You're right she does have the right to speak her mind. Just as we have the right to speak our minds. We also have the right NOT to buy any of their albums or go to any of their concerts. We have the right to boycott them and put them out of business too. I thinks someone here said it best when they said Natalie Maines has nothing in her head besides cold air.

I agree with the Dixie Chicks. Defending our country is not bad but the president is for the birds. He is trying to finish what his daddy couldn't. Maybe he needs a drink and a BJ so he can chill out. They will sell at least 1 CD this week because I bought it. If we are all bombed and dead it really doesn't matter if they are boycotted or not.

Hey Mudn Girl,
I have found a Bartles and James (BJ) wine cooler is quite refreshing after a long day, it really helps me chill.
I see this is your first post , and you live in Illinois .
(note to experienced readers) ---> I did not create this new account called *Mudn Girl* , it must be someone else from Illinois , moderators would be able to tell . I am not accusing anyone either . It could be figured out if anyone really cares .
Rick

First and foremost, who doesn't need a drink and a BJ? Second, he may not be the smartest president we've ever had, but what I like about him is his conviction. No he would not make a good car salesman, so what? Does anyone really think that he would spend all of this money and take all of the heat he has taken just because he had a beef with Saddam over his father not whipping up on him enough? Come ON! This guy has had more scalding press than Saddam for goodness sake! Yes, the Dixie Chicks have a right to express their opinion. That doesn't mean that they're right. That also doesn't mean that anyone has to accept their apology or support them in their artistic endeavors. I liked them a lot before all of this. For those who say that their political views shouldn't have anything to do with our desire to support them as artists, I say, it should be an individual decision. Hell, I wouldn't go out and buy Hitler's greatest hits no matter how hard he rocked. I know that the DC's can't be compared to Hitler, so don't bother pointing that out to me. If the point that I'm trying to make in that comparison is too lofty a concept for you, then you probly kant spel aneeway. They have a right to free speach. Others have the right to hate them for it. Did you notice how quickly she spit her foot out of her mouth when she saw dollar signs falling in the wake of her statements.
I'm sick of people bitching about the USA. To AMERICANS It's become the "IN" thing. This practice of self loathing & guilt has run it's course in my opinion.
BTW, I'm not a Republican or Democrat.

MudnGirl, welcome to the ATV Connection website, sit and post a spell.
Rick Ritter: I'm STILL chuckling at your lyrics. Maybe you could sell those lines to Cledus T. Judd. Or better yet, sing it yourself. You could use it for the background music for your website, and make it available for download. Heck, I'd pay a buck for the privelage of downloading it. However, not that I doubt your singing prowess, don't give up your day job, at least not quite yet.
I can respect everyone's right to voice their opinion. Just please respect my right to voice mine, as well. The 'Chicks' can say anything they want to, that is the beauty of this country. However, they also need to bear the responsibility of their actions, too. If people don't buy their CDs, that is their choice, and it is also your choice if you want to buy 10 of them.
Whether or not this war is justified, I don't know. I DO believe that Saddam intends all sorts of evil deeds to the free world, and I also DO believe that Saddam has all sorts of nasty, nasty weapons. Whether or not he truly is nuts enough to use them, I don't know. Whether or not more UN sanctions against him would work, I don't know. Whether more time for weapons inspections would help, I don't know. I DO know he has killed untold numbers of his own countrymen, for offenses that wouldn't even result in jail time in this country (for example, if there was an Iraqi group called the 'Desert Chicks', and they made a public statement against Saddam, they would probably just 'disappear')
I have had (a very litttle bit of) correspondence from an immigrant from Iraq. If half of what he says about the evils Saddam has wrought is true, he doesn't deserve the dignity of dying in a war. He should drown in a vat of boiling hog lard. Only time will tell if what he said is accurate.
For now, I am not going to get to vocal either way. If war breaks out, I will support American forces 100%. If they find evidence of Saddam's evils (and I think they will) I will rally behind the President, and all those who made this terrible, difficult decision. If, however, they find the war was UNjustified, I will just as easily admit I, and they, were wrong.
What I DON'T like, is the 'have it both ways' people. For example, I lost some respect for Dashle. Earlier, he voted FOR military action. Now he is on the air voicing his objections to it. However, when asked if he wants another Senate vote, he says no, it was already voted on. So basically, he is on the record for being both FOR military action (if the war proves to be the right thing to do) as well as being on record for being AGAINST military action (if there winds up being a backlash due to the war).
And, as Forrest Gump would say - 'That's all I got to say about that right now'

I think there is a war of our own going on here. As for the war, lets go getem. Its time to stand our ground. Like another country song says, we didn't get our freedom by sitting around with our thumb up our @@@. As far as the dixie chicks, who cares, they are some singers with an opinion like all of us. I am not thrilled with there comments but at the same time have two of there CD's. I hope that does't make me desirving of a lube job and a toss over a prison wall. All in All lets go hunting in the desert. My quad hasn't seen that kind of sand yet. And the rifle hasn't got to shoot at something that shoots back.
My 2 cents.
My 2 cents.
