Default major problem with my predator!!!!

Your not alone with the tranny problems! My buddy and I bought our Preds at the same time. We both have had problems with the tranny popping in and out of gear, mostly 4th. When we change the oil on the bikes there is metal shavings on the magnet plug. I flushed mine out good and put synthetic 10w30 motor oil in mine and that seemed to help. Went riding today, while mine shifted smoothly, my very upset friend lost 4th gear completly. Hope this is not the start of a trend of tranny problems!

Default major problem with my predator!!!!

Last time I was at the dealer they had a Preditor in the shop with no engine. I asked what happened and he said a C clip came loose inside. Not much was said so I don't know if it was an engine or tranny part.

Default major problem with my predator!!!!

i dont know the build date of my quad, but i purchased it in the last week of december.

i have had the transmission do some weird things that i've never noticed on my other bikes (raptor,250R) like for instance....shifting when accelerating hard, it would not shift going int to 3rd then after a second it would act like it skipped a gear and went 2 gears instead of 1.....meaning when it did shift it was then in 5th. this only occured while shifting under hard acceleration.
no false neutrals...just not getting out of the gear to go to the next.

my RAPTOR would go in to a "false" neutral going from 1st to 2nd and sometimes 2nd to 3rd.

Your build date is located on the same decal as the serial number, rh side of bike ahead of the motor. Are you people all using PS4 oil?

That sucks Bobby!!
I sure hopw it's an easy fix so it doesn't join your Raptor in the parts bin!!
make sure you change it back to gas before you take it in.

Keep us updated!!

there is the only mistake polaris have done to this bike cauze the predator was not intended to be powershifted through the gears like the others sport quads, also it CAN be the lower rpm redline of the rev limiter (CDI mapping) causing some fire cutting of the engines, there still some performances gains in those factory cautions...
