Default Lightweight 4-stroke engine?

I'm looking for a lightweight 4-stroke engine that will put out at least 50 HP. The Polaris engines don't have a gearbox and should be lighter weight. Can anyone tell me what model Polaris might have a lightweight 4-stroke engine with no gearbox and that puts out at least 50 HP?

Don't know how much they weigh, but the new 750cc watercraft engines make 110 and 150 hp. They are both turbo charged. Or their 780 snowmobile engine.

Are you talking stock, or modified?
The 500HO engine puts out mid-30s stock, and CAN be made to make around 50, but at what cost to reliability, I don't know.

Otherwise, you are going to have to go to the twins.

The 780 snowmobile engine puts out 48 at the crankshaft. It might make it to 50 with a little urging.

You might want to give the little shop of horsepower a call:HPD 763-389-3336. Or I'm sure I'll be up there at least once this week, I can ask them.

Are you looking for a motor for that powrachute? If so why dont you look at a rotax they make the best high horsepower high rpm motors.I have an ultralight its an old one that has a 2stroke on it..But for high horsepower light weight motors you cant beat a boat motor. The powerhead on my boat motor weighs about 75lbs and puts out 120hp....

I'm looking to an alternative to the Rotax. And I want to try a 4-stroke because of the longer TBO and thriftier fuel usage.

go buy a V-Force and drop that motor into it. I'll donate $5 as long as you take me on a flight. Any others?
