Request pointers regarding 03 Trail Boss 330 carb. jet mod.
Bought a new 03 Trail Boss 330. The dealer said to increase power I can change the stock jet for a 145 LG RD Main Jet. I can change this and add the K&N filter myself. To allow more air intake, he sold me 1" filtered air vents to place in the air box lid. He said to add 3 vents to start and if too rich (exhaust smoke) to add more one at a time until right. He said the Polaris is a finicky quad so the air intake had to be just right? Please provide comments-pointers on this mod..

I put the RCR stage 1 kit on my 01' 325 Trailboss. It consists of 2 -1.5 inch holes in the air box (rubber stack grommets), White Bros E-series pipe, 150 main jet, and a new primary clutch spring. It is jetted a hair bit rich but dosen't bog at full throttle. You will notice a small increase in power with air box vents and a rejet, but if you want to wake it up, put a pipe on it..

ok ok, now im not trying to start a huge Ruckus or anything , but why in the heck do you guys go puttin holes in your airboxes to gain HP, makes no sense to me, i mean, what about water, bet you have to be extra careful in water, cuz on my Xplorer even it i go through water at slow speed my tires throw water on my airbox, granted my airbox and you guys' is different but still, or are you people that go punchin holes in ur airboxes mainly riding dunes or flat trails? i dont know thats why im asking, i guess it dont make sense to me, but like i say not talking smack, just have always wondered.
