Bubba, I just checked out you pics. Sweet machines man! Where did you get the nerf bars on your alky sport? What brand are they? On the rear fenders, how far down did you cut them? Was it where the three screws hold the mudguard that goes the floorboard? Just curious, I've been thinking about race cutting my fenders.

The nerfs are DG aluminums for a Banshee. Not a lot of modifying to make them fit. I did go right above the holes on the rear fenders and took just a little over an inch all the way to the back end. It just seemed to clean it up some. That setup really makes the bike look much better. Thanks!!!

No, I have'nt. Does he have a 99 Sport also? On your alky, where those nerfs like the DG nerfs for a 250 Racer? That was my last 4-wheeled machine, a 91' 250, FMF'd, bored, ported, all the bells and whistles. I mean as far as mounting (Front cross tube with u-bolts and flat plates on the back)? Do I have to leave the rear floorboard mount or weld one in a new location on the frame? Custom (steel) fab is an occupation of mine but I don't have the capability of welding aluminum with my welder. It looks like I can just bolt the rear of the nerfs to the frame or weld a tab just beneath it. Hate to bug you but I only want to do the work once!! Thanks in advance.

The nerfs are for a Banshee. All i had to do was weld a small angle bracket to the bottom of the frame and that's where I attatched the rear of the nerfs to. The front bar is attatched with 3 out of the 4 mounting holes. It really all fit nicely.

I just found a link to ken's pics. Sweet machine as well! What did you guys do with the right side mounted shifter? Do you still have reverse or did you remove it?

Aw shucks, thanks Bubba and Jason. The pics on my site had reverse still installed. It's going back in the machine this weekend w/o it though. Depending what pipe you have, the easiest shifter lever is when you have the newer style HPD ATV8 pipe. It's just a flat piece of aluminum with that unit. If you have a wider pipe, you can come off the shifter are, then do a zig and then a zag to get it to drop down below the pipe. Like Bubba stated, it's all easy stuff.

Thanks Ken and Bubba for all the info. I will probably leave my shifter in the stock location. I have a RCR midrange pipe and use the machine mostly for aggressive trail riding with occasional trips to the dunes. I just wanted to find some way to make the machine look sportier. After looking at your pics, I've found out what I need to do. I still can't get used to the full floorboards after being on Racers and such for so long. Thanks again!!
