Thanks for the reply's guys. I did re-torque all of the nuts before I ran it the second (final) time. I mixed oil with the gas, but only 1 of the 4 or so gallons in the tank. So I didn't add a whole lot of oil to the tank. As far as jetting, I know nothing about it. The guy from Hpd said it would be all set when he sent it back to me. In fact, I called him today and told him what happened and he thinks there wasn't enough oil with the gas. He mentioned that I should have adjusted the oil-injection pump. I may put in the oil-injection block-off since I am going to probably need another new piston.
If the oil mixture isn't right, can that cause this to happen?
I'm not real experienced with this type of stuff yet, so I guess I'm learning the hard way!

The oil mixture needs to be right. I have two Aaen ported 440s and I run 32 to 1 mix. I melted two pistons before I blocked off the oil injection. I have had no problem since then.

 

Yep not enough oil can melt a piston quick, since you are pretty big on mods and putting that much more gas into the motor, you should probably do a block off because the oil pump may not have enough oil to give to that extra gas.

 

abaran,i run mine at 50:1 with klotz all year round,it is 13 once of oil for 5 gallons of gas.
but still 1 gallon of oil along the pump shouln't be that bad,check your jetting for sure,it is with the spark plug.
