Other than the radiator coolant change once a year, you do have a few ounces of counterbalancer oil to change as well. Just once or twice a year and you'll have one that will go the distance. Those are really the only 2 things more to have to deal with.Bubba

It will take all of the $1500 difference to mod a 250TB to keep up with a good running 400. Especially if you think you want to beat a 400!!!

If you don't get the 400, all of us will be chanting "we told you so" over, and over. hehe. Get Da Power!!! You can always let off the gas, but it sucks when you have it pinned and you want more.

Having owned both a Trailboss 250 and a Sport 400, there is no question the 400 is the one to buy. The 250 is good for stepping kids up, but you'll never be on the 400 saying, "Jeez, I wish I had a slower, less powerfull ATV". The liquid cooling is a big plus if you ride hard or in a lot of hot weather.

You dont have to mod the hell out of it to keep up with a scrammy. I have about 800 into mine and easily keeps up with the 400.Not that hard to do!I would go with the 400 because of the cooling and it has tons more power stock then the TB.But if you are on a budget then the 250 is fine. There are tons of mods for both of them.

the extra money worth the extra power and response for sure,a liquid cooled motor is a lot more broader performing than a air engine,it is faster than a 250,no doubt, they're not hard to maintains but MUST be maintains as well (grease it,coolant, counter balance,)as they will wear out quicker,if the dealer preps are ok ,you should be happy for the first
half year.

GET THE 400! Usually what happens is someone buys the 250, because they don't think their is much of a difference, then they realize the 250 is very slow, so then they put 800+ dollars (not including labor, if you don't know how to wrench) into it to make it almost as fast as a stock 400. Then they sell it, because they want more power and buy the 400.

I bought my wife the 250, and I got the 400 at the same time. She was happy with the 250 until she rode the 400, then she was pissed! "you ripped me off!" So, to make a long story short, I sold the 250 (after buying mods) so I could have my 400 back! And got her a the 500X.
