Had the same problem with my Scrambler and had to re-build the engine because of it. That is why I will never use a K&N in my atv's again. It depends on how long you ran the motor like that, what got in it, and if any jets were clogged in the process.

Sounds like you got it wet and it shrank a little and or got deformed. Was it a paper filter?

i had the same problem on my predator also my dealership put a new lid on it and cut away some of the plastic on the bottom of the seat if you look on your airbox lid you will see where your seat has been rubbing on your lid pushing down on it in the middle and bowing the edges of the lid out thus letting in dirt and sand and so far i have not had that problem again

Mine leaks occasionally too if I don't pay attention to where the lid is sealing. I'm going to try all that, shaving the ends of the filter a little, maybe a small bead of silicon to act as a gasket. But I think I'm going to wrap some duct tape around the seam of the lid for when I race hare scrambles to make sure the mud stays out. What can't duct tape do!! Just ask Red Green!!

i dont think that i would put silicone on it . it will be hard to get it to seal next time you clean it. silicone will be hard to get off grease it it works
