Default WHY DISCONNECT OIL INJECTION?

Is there a major benefit to disconnecting the oil injection on my 2002 Trailblazer?

Yes. You will lose the extra weight, and will not have to worry about your pump failing. Just learn how to mix the gas and oil at the correct ratio, and you will be fine.

If it is a stock machine, I wouldn't worry about it. If you have alot of mods, it is a good idea.

The only reason would be in case the oil injection fails, which doesn't happen often. The weight savings would not be noticed.
