Default mixing polaris gold and blue two stroke oils

When I purchased my TB 250. The dealer put in Polaris gold oil. Yet sold me a gallon of Polaris blue oil. When I went to add more oil, I noticed the difference. When I asked my dealer, He said it would be okay to mix the two. Yet when I asked other area dealers. They advised they only used the blue oil. I've asked 3 different dealers, with 3 different answers. Any suggestion would be great. Thanks

From what I've been told, the expensive gold stuff is to reduce plug fowling when putzing around doing yard work. But if you frequently ride abouve 15 mph, run the blue. It's cheaper and you aren't gonna hafta worry about fowling once you have the machine warmed up. I would suggest at least draining the oil tank and then adding the blue oil. I would mix a whole tank, just let it use up what is in the line and then switch over. This is what my dealer told me to do when switching over, just repeating what I've heard.

No harm in mixing them, they are compatable.

I would run the oil level down fairly low before switching, anyway.

I used to use the blue oil, but I spend a lot of time putting around behind cows, and would foul out a spark plug every 800 miles or so. I now use the Gold, and have less smoke, and have over 5000 miles on the spark plug that is in my machine. Runs good, yet, but doesn't start as quick as with a new plug, especially when cold.

I was told by my dealer that it was ok to mix when you change but not to make a habit of it.
