Default Hi there everyone new to the ATV world

Hello all. Brand new owner of my first atv. Just inherited a 2000 Suzuki King Quad 300 with just a little over 1400 miles.Has sat unused for the past 4 years and needs some work.I am going to let the local dealer take on the engine work if needed but am capable of changing parts with a little advise I think. Looking forward to tinkering with it. Happy to be aboard )

Yep. Was told the fuel shut off valve goes bad in this model. It has a fresh oil leak on the underside of the cylinder head and on the u-joint that is under the cylinder that is a cause of concern.

Those were tough old machines, with good maintenance they were almost bullet proof. Suzuki builds some good machines, there only big downfall that I am aware of is the cost of replacement parts, they are more costly than other brands. Son had a small 80 quad that we bought in a bushel basket with a frame. He worked all his spare time getting that machine back together, I bought him a factory service manual, and he had it running in less than one month. He played with it all summer then swapped it for a dirt bike. I had to foot the bill for the replacement parts that were needed and they were not cheap when compared to other brands but he certainly learned a lot. They were not fast but they would go just about anywhere!!
Welcome aboard and have fun.
