2006 LT-Z50 Parking Brake operation
My daughters quad developed an issue last season. It starts and idles fine. However once throttle is applied it seems as if the rev limiter kicks in.
I've done some research and found that the parking brake assembly can cause this issue. To test, I attempted to start the quad without the parking brake set. It started. So I can start it without the parking brake set.
I removed the parking brake switch. When the parking brake is set, the switch is closed. When the parking brake is not set the switch is open. I can operate the switch using the plunger and there is no change in how the quad runs. I checked continuity back to the connector the parking brake wires plug into (along with the start button and kill switch) and the wires checked good.
So now I'm stumped. I could chase the wires further, but wanted to stop here first. If anyone has had further experience with this problem please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Yes, it could be a fuel delivery problem. I was pursuing the parking brake first, as I'm not 100% certain if it is operating correctly. From what I've found on this site, that whole system is suspect.
So is it normal that the machine starts by the pull rope regardless of parking brake status?
This whole situation stinks. I've owned 15+ fourwheelers over my life, and the one I purchase for my daughter has given me the most grief!!
Thanks in advance for the replies.
