The Z tops out at 54 and the EX at 51. When you dragged were you lighter or maybe more experianced than the other guy?????? Weight can make a big difference.

look in dirt wheels. they tested the z250 and the 250ex and at the end they said that on top end that the 250ex was faster than the z250 even though the z250 has more diplacment the 250ex will out run it and they said it was a slightly better machine it is in the november of 03 issue. if you have dirt wheels

Well the 250ex and z250 are the same thing, suzuki just took the 250ex layout and took one of their sport/utility machines like honda did with the recon and made a upgraded version of the 250ex. I have always like honda and have never had a problem with them. In the long run i would also say since they lowered the 250ex price by $400 i think that the 250ex is a better buy. With that extra $400 you can put on nice aftermarket parts and be better than the z250 even though they are the same thing in the long run.

Hey gotta love the kota though guys,
boy have I beat on her in the last year and a half..........I think I've rolled her twice, got a crack each time.....other then that, my biggest problem ....changing the spark plug.......man this thing is a pretty bulletproof bike.....for what It's worth, It already doubled it's value....just a great machine.....I actually do like those 250ex's though....very nice machines, best part is when I race them....how I blow right by.......even better....is when they bust out the 300ex, and think their winning, until 5th gear......lol
ah man fun ya know

i've rolled my 250ex twice, been rammed into by a 350 rancher 4x4 goin like 35 mph, ran into a tree(all the branches, not the actual trunk), been scraped against by a warrior a few times, been hit in the back by that same warrior a few times...and after all that, the only problems are scratched plastic, and the front left lip is bent....still runs like new tho

Yeah i only had my lakota for like 6 or 7 months now and love it, also about $1,000 into it this summer in aftermarket parts and for sure with my new mods it wakes up the lakota a lot. I flipped my back a few times doing wheelies and stuff. Also mine never fails to start and runs so smooth. My friend said that he would be able to beat me with his z250 and i didn't say anything just raced and i won everytime, maybe lost one or so because i got a bad start but the lakota's fast them the z250. I really glad too, with my lakota, and most people say bad things about the lakota before they ride them and know them. I also am pretty rough on my quad but hey it's a quad and it's ment for that, she runs great and will for a long time.
