Yea I sure am proud of my bike.......
Personally I think she looks pretty good and I got her running real good.
stock speed was 51 when I got her a year ago, my current speed is 62mph.....can't argue with that!

Nice picture BigChris, i gotta get some new picture of my lakota, the picture i have now are not clear and it's hard to see what my lakota really looks like. She looks a lot better in person and sound a lot mean than stock. My friend is coming over this weekend were going riding and he had a camera (nice one) so i'll make sure we take a ton of pictures of us riding and stuff like that and see if i can post some new ones more clearer and bigger. I also haver another question is how did you get your lakota to do 62mph with a stock pipe. I almost have all my performance mods and then i'm gonna see what she tops out at hopefully somewhere are you speed. Also what i love about lakota is they are so rare, not to many people have them and of-course no mods if they do. I have the nice lakota in my town and in school so that says a lot.

Well, I have done alot to my quad.....
First off.....I have removed over 50lbs from the quad....
second I have the air filter, and a wacky cut up air intake..thats wide open, great throttle response...
I also dialed in the carb almost perfectly...(took me forever).....
but the most speed gained was from the 13t sprocket.......really gives her speed
I also was running 89 octane when I clocked her...
I think I gained alot of speed back by simply reducing alot of weight
My quad has a lot of little things done to it...that make a difference
I'm getting a DG rcm pipe soon, their nice slip ons....that should put me up to the high 60's
V unit your kota is pretty nice......I used to have mine covered in stickers like that too a while back
I just have alittle advice......DO NOT BUY anything that isnt made for a lakota......believe me i learned the hard way......ACOUPLE TIMES...lol not even all mojave stuff fits....so keep that in mind

Thanks BigChris i think my lakota pretty nice, also i planning on getting the 13 tooth sprocket soon and i'm just wondering is it hard to get the stock one off and do you think that that will make my quad a lot more fast than how it is now. I gonna get nerf bars to this month but i'll make surethey are for a lakota and not a mojave. Also how did you get some much weight off your lakota. Tonight i finally said the hell with it and took all my mudflaps and heel gaurds off, also i got my aftermarket pipe which took alot of weight off to. I want to get new rims also because those steels weight a ton. Is there anything else that i can take off my lakota to make her weight less and make her faster. I want to do something with my airbox but just dont know what to do.

V unit
- The 13t will give you alot of top speed, right now your quad may be restricted from speed from your pipe..because it is geared too low...
- I ride in muddy conditions.....so the airbox is a must, however.....I manged to halfway destroy mine when putting on the smoothy
- I pretty much took off anything I didn't think was important....I have boxes of parts and screws
I dont even remember where they all go....carefull without heel gaurds though.....one bad jump..
-Oh yea, the sprocket wasnt the easiest job.....first take of the guard.....then I belive its a nut on the sprocket you must undo, but it will be very tight.......I used an air compressed drill to unscrew mine....also you should losten the chain quite a bit during this process
I have a ton of things I am planning to do with this bike still......just been low on cash lately...so theres a slow down.....but I want to get this pipe first, and then work my way from there.....I'm planning on racing it in local MX or XC this summer, I just don't know which right now

BigChris, i'm gonna order a ton of stuff this month for my lakota. First i'm getting the 13 tooth sprocket because everyone with lakota's have them and say how sick they work if you have aftermarket parts like mine, next i'm gonna get new tires, i want the holeshot XCT because there good for trail and conditions like that which i ride in. Last i want Alloy nerf bars so i'm safe when i'm at my track, and it gives a nice racey look to quads. I also want a K&G clutch kit if i can find one, i have been looking all over and can't seem to find it anywhere. I dont think that i will have trouble with removing the old sprocket and i'll do the things you said to do in order to get my new one on. I wanted to do something with my airbox but at the same time i dont want to mess up anything. I think that i will be able to run in the 60ish mph when i get all this stuff on my quad, i think that the tires are going to help out a lot to with cornering and trackion and i should feel a huge diffence with them on. Well when you get your pipe post something about it because i want to know how you like it and stuff like that, i love my DG xcclerator and would not be happyer with any other pipe.

Yea, I'm plannin on beefin' her up still....I'd love to get the suppertrapp exhaust, because thats the best for the lakota's but I just don't have the money for one...plus the RCM is a slip on.

Hey BigChris, this weekend when my friend came over we did a lot of little work on my lakota. First we took off everything on my lakota that i think i dont need. Then we looked at my battery box and figured that it woulf be a lot of work to to move the battery and everything under the seatr so, we just moved it all the way against the frame and i gained about 1" or so. We only did an hour at the most of riding so we got like no pics and it was cold and stuff. But for the most part i like the way my lakota is coming out and can't wait to get the 13 tooth sprocket.

I have 2001 Lakota Sport its a great all around bike, i also have a honda 400 and it flys but i still love to ride the lakota it has great handling good through mudd, sugar sand, water everything never gets stuck i even pull many large trees on my land b/c alot came down with the hurricans in Fl. and i ride my bikes very hard never letting up, lakota in my opinion is a better all around bike better than the z250 friend has one and ive rode a 250 ex blows it away. Good choise on choosing the Lokota.
