The sport belongs to all who appreciate it and respect others that want to join it. I come from a long line of motorcycle freaks. I just recently switched over to four wheels and couldn't be happier....it's just more fun! Anyway, my mom raced mx for several years was and pretty good. She raced with the likes of Mercedes Gonzales and many other names that I can't think of right now. Anyway, it's true that most guys don't like to beaten by girls but that's pretty old school. If a girl beats me than she deserves it because I get bloody and give nothing away!

lol, quadqueen, i wasn't feelin too bad. somehow i didn't expect to win against a banshee with drag pipes, straight paddles, and who knows how many engine mods. that kid beat jus about everybody that day. i know what u mean about gettin people to ride, i can get family memebers, and a couple of friends, but eveybody else thinks i'm insane and i've only gotten 1 girl to go riding with me. next summer i'll be livin on the dunes so i should get a few more. im going to have to call BULL SH#T on that one. - i just got back from riding at the lake and i didnt see yfz beat any one badly but a piped 400 ex ---and it wasnt that bad.---there was two stock z400 and the yfz beat them by about a half a link. i was beating the 400z by about five links----although i didnt race the yfz, i feel very comfortable i could beat him in the 100yd dash.i know u guys are proud of your bikes and u dont want anyone slamming them, but u got to be a little more relistic about it. the yzf IS fast but it isnt the phenominom that everyone is saying it is.---------------go out there and form your own opinion because obviously the yfz riders are being a little bias. ( thats just my opinion)

 

My LT will outrun a piped Z400, and a YFZ with the peashooter pulled, airbox lid off, and jetted will run away from my LT bigtime. Raced several of them. I think if you saw a YFZ just getting by an EX something must have been quite wrong, as compared to what I've seen and ridden.

 

maybe it was because we were in the loose sand---im not ******* the yfz- im just not as impressed with it as others seemed to be.although it is very impresive what it can do with only a 450cc engine.

 

That was at the dunes that I was talking about too. I think if the YFZ is stock without the baffle removed etc. it might not be all that impressive. All the ones I've been on and around though had at least the baffle/airlid removed, or piped, or more, and they were pretty impressive. Made my old LT look like it needed some help......

 

I never said I was impressed with it either!!!! I was just tellin' about what i've seen!!!

Actually so far, my 450 sucks! It's goin' back to the shop again! I keep havin' trouble with it! I hate taking machines back to the dealer, cause they take way too long to finish! I'd do it myself, but i'm use to workin' on the little 2stoker! I guess I'm gonna have to learn!

 

2 weeends ago I had the opurtunity to race a YFZ450 with a bone stock 03DS the 450 had GYT-R pipe he said he just had it dyno tuned at 39 hp. The DS got beat each and every time I hate to say. But a friend of mine took the YFZ for a ride and was not impressed he didnt like the feel of it you had to rev it a LOT to go good HP -bad torque. I'll stick with the DS I like the comfort level.

 

i've heard that alot about the YFZ, the fact that it has no torque. i will find out for myself in about 3-4 weeks. the people who bought the quads r comin to pismo, then i'm goin to bakersfield to ride the next weekend. i should have my 416 kit by then too. i jus gotta wait for my paycheck to come in.

 

the lack of torque came from a friend who rides an 02 400EX with aT-4 slip on - not compared to my DS.
