Default STORAGE?????????

Now would it be better to change the oil before storage or after storage in the spring? I would think that it would better to change it in the spring in case you get any condensation in the tank and you also allow any gunk in there to settle at the bottom where you can drain it easily. Does this sound reasonable?

Possibly.. but you're just going to stir it up when you start the bike to warm it up anyhow. You're better off to have the oil warm and all of the gunk suspended in it when you drain the thing... that way you get more of the garbage out.

Default STORAGE?????????

With my sportbikes ( they are the only ones that go into deep storage) I drain the oil and put in fresh before storage. In spring, I dump the oil before the first ride and again replace with fresh. Overkill ??? yeah, but we are only talking a few qts of oil and worth it IMHO.
