I think its pretty funny the way everybody spells it artic cat, when really its arCtic cat. I always thought it was spelled that way, and apparently the guy that relettered the cowl of my Lynx thought so too, so for 4 years I've been riding around with "Artic Cat" in big silver letters on the front of my sled.

Nobody ever said anything about it until this summer. I had it outside uncovered because I was working on it at my grandparents and we were having a BBQ, and my aunt was looking at it, and then she asked me how I spelled arctic, and thats the first time anybody noticed it was spelled wrong. I never did much riding on the NY State trails anyway, most of it was on private land, so nobody ever saw it.

Jed250 buy an Arctic Cat sled with EFI if you want reliability....on most EFI cats it's 2nd pull start EVERY time...and no carbs to clean every year. I myself am looking to get a sled but I want a triple cuz I think they sound sweet.

yeah they are good sleds but I can't remember if any of the triples came in EFI.....I know the late 90s ZRs had EFI like the ZR700, 600 and 500 twins.....come to think of it I think that the later year triples had EFI......

Stay away from the ZR700's there old Wildcat motors in a new chassis. There worth nothing and get beat by every other 700 on the planet. If you want efi, get a 97 and up 580 ZR or ZR600. The rear suspension increased substantially in 97. Check the net and make sure recalls and updates were done. I had a 97 ZRT 600 and it was one of the most funs sleds I have owned and I have had 2 new ZR800's too. The ZRT800 are quick but heavy to throw aroud all day in the trail.

Any good sled in those years are the 98-99 US built polaris twins.

Good luck.

I have got sleds from all of the different brands, really any brand new sled is gonna be really nice.
My personal favorite brand is Ski-Doo, even though my sled is a Polaris.

From what I know, Arctic Cat makes the fastest snowmobiles, but are the most unreliable (you have to wrench on them the most). If you don't mind working on sleds, Arctic Cat will give you one hell of an exciting ride with their F7 sled which is the fastest sled on snow.

Ski-Doo is the brand with all the latest and greatest technology for their sleds, they are renowned for innovation in the snowmobile world. Plus, they are pretty damn fast, my dad's 2002 MXZ 600 is a rocket and is fast enough for me. I also gotta give props to Ski-Doo's suspension, which I have found to be the best of any snowmobile brand.

Polaris sleds are just pure fun. They are light, and really easy to throw around, really great on the trails. They are really good jumpers, out of all the brands, I definitely feel the most comfortable jumping on a Polaris.

Yamaha sleds are great if you're into reliability, the engines are bullet-proof and very rarely do you have to work on them. My 1991 Yamaha Exciter 2 to this day has not had a single problem go wrong with it. As long as you keep up with basic maintenance, (change the spark plugs, clean the carbs etc.) You will have yourself a super reliable sled. It comes at a price though, Yamaha definitely has the slowest sleds of all the brands.

Like I said before, brand new they're all going to be really good.
