Default 400ex vs z400 vs warrior

i was wondering the top speed of a year 2000-2002 400ex (stock) and then what the top speed of it would be with any pipe on it. also my twin brother is getting 2001 warrior with a white bros. pipe and i was wondering which one would win in a drag, i guess i would probably lose if i end up getting a 2000-2002 400ex (stock). and if i would lose, what pipe would help me beat or tie him in a race. the last thing i was wondering is i have a friend with a 2003 z400 (stock) and if i got a pipe and put it on my future 400ex would i keep up with him or beat him? THANKS, hope you can answer all of my questions.

Welcome to the forums

The warrior is not all that fast even with a pipe about 60.. The 400ex goes about 60-65mph stock a pipe cant add speed but it can make it quicker only gearing can really effect speed. the Z400 stock for stock is faster then the EX, and will just go faster with mods..

I would get the EX its a great quad to start out with and easy to mods and get parts for....

Not sure on what pipe is the best for the EX...

If you have the money, get the Z, it's basically a 400EX with a liquid cooled double overhead cam engine and reverse, all the things that the 400EX lacks. I got my Warrior over the EX for reverse, but you may not need it. The EX and the Warrior are two of the most reliable quads on the market, and I haven't heard of too many people having problems with their Z's. I guess it mainly depends on the amount of money you want to spend, but the Z is definitely better than the other two while the 400EX and Warrior are debatable. Good luck

The guys I ride with all have White Bros. E-series pipes, K&N Power Up kits, went up a tooth in the front and run an open airbox with outwear's airbox covers. They topped out at @ 71 MPH, thanks to a good ol' police buddy of ours and his radar gun. My stock Raptor topped out at @ 78.

Oh YEAH, that was on 400EX's, I would have to say that the Z-400 with the same mods would probably top at @ 77-78mph and a Warrior @ 65.

Stock warrior will go ~63 unless the rider is way heavy. My piped Warrior with stock gearing would go just over 68mph (110km/h). The warrior doesn't really unleash a whole lot of power with small mods like pipe, fliter, jet ...

With my quad geard down now to 12/40 instead of stock 13/40 it tops out around 102km/h.

This is all according to my trailtech, which most who've experienced them will tell you are fairly accurate. They measure speed based on the circumference of your front wheel. My front wheel is approx. 21 and a quarter inch dia. 539.75mm .. circ. then is 1696mm.

With my completely stock 400ex i hit 69 mph according to my gamin rhino gps ive dragraced many z/kfx400 and ive got all of them on the start but in fifth speed some catche me and beat me on top, i choose the 400ex because i dont need reverse and i like honda ,but the warrior isnt competitive with a 400ex i have dragraced one piped and jetted and i smoke him easily. a 400ex with a pipe should do pretty good against a z400

There is no way stock gearing would go 68...i dont care how many mods you got without changing the gearing you would only gain about 2-3mph...yell at me if i'm wrong but thats as far as i understand...otherwise the engine wouldnt rev high enough
