modquad was just saying that a predator has proven itself, and it is one of the fastest in the midwest...and who knows where else.

 

man i can't believe how touchy owners of certain brands get when someone says another brand can out perform them. someone mentioned the yfz450 and something about getting the raptor down to 350lbs? i thought this was suppose to be which quad was better stock for stock? i take it that means what ever displacement, wieght or equipment they come with. come on now! if you get into this mod and that mod and wieght loss who can say which will be fastest. if you bring the ds down to 350lbs ( which would be very hard to do since it's about the heaviest) who could say how fast it would be? if anyone wants to race my ds come on. after you cross the finish line you can come on over under the shade tree and have a cold one with me because thats where i'll be. don't want to loose the cooler off the back by racing. and i'll have you know i have never been beat by any of my usual riding buddys. of course i only ride with my 6 y/o son on his ds90?

ohh yea APRIL FOOLS!!!!

 

500cc dual over head cam is way better then 660cc single over head cam. thats y the pred hp is 42 and rap is 36-38. more hp equals higher speeds. thats y stock for stock pred beats rap.

 

really so tourqe doesn't mean anything which the raptor has a lot more than a pred and 42 hp stock get the hell out that's an april fools joke right??

 

um not according the the mags that have done DYNO tests and i cant remember the site but they tested the pred on teh dyno and it was 42 rear tire hp. and yes torque matters only at the start of the race, torque gets you movine and hp keeps you moving. and do u know the torque specs. if do please post.

 

All i know is that the raptor has 39 hp stock and DS has 48, dont know anything about the predator never heard of the 42 hp...but i would imagine it would have around 38-39 hp

 

All these newer quads are awesome. I'd stay away from the TRX and YFZ myself, though - maintenance will be high. If I was racing I'd certainly think about them, though.

 

All that matters is that a new quad(pred) is winning most of the drags in the midwest, and they haven't had much time to make a lot of mods yet..so who knows how fast the pred will eventually be.

 

wait you are going by what a mag says?? hahaha and uhh some dynos are different how do you know they couldn't take it to another one and it say 35 then you would be like no man that's wrong that's not what the magazine says, well if you read some of the shootouts with the raptor and predator they give the raptor the win so...
