Project: Bogus Blaster
#1
ok, well, I am starting a new project, a similar to my banshee, frame up. Its going to be a blaster. I have not yet really looked into them, for I figured I would never really ride one, but its for the ol' ball and chain, and my little brother(they can learn to share) For the motor I'm gonna do a wiseco piston, rod, and crank, I would like to do a 240 kit, but not to sure. Maier plactics(because i like the way they look over stock, kinda longer) some good tires, rims, toomey b1 pipe, carbon fiber reads, ya know, the usual stuff. What do you guys have all done for suspension? Who makes the best disc brake conversion? or can I go with a stock 03' setup since i'm going ground up?
If some of you have some pretty wild blasters, which i'm sure some of you do, lemme know what you've all done, so I can get some ideas goin.

Get an 03 Blaster for the juice brakes. By this time you can find them used for probably close to 2 grand, and it's too expensive to buy a cheaper one and put the brakes on it, you'll spend 500 bucks I bet doing that conversion.
I have a couple of Blasters for my boys. One of them has fmf pipe, wiseco piston, uni filter w/ holes in airbox lid, and porting & head mods by Eric Gorr. It really woke up and my 85 pound son was climbing the big dune we have out here called Choke Cherry hill (see my pix) with it. It now can use some more carburator too so there's more power to be had before going big bore. It runs pump gas and the port characteristics are for all around riding so it's not an on-off switch; it's very rideable. Blasters are fun to mess with they are so simple.
