Default Street Legal Quads In Minnesota

I was just checking to see if anyone knows if in Minnesota. We can make our quads street legal? I've heard a couple people say yes. I talked to the DNR about it, they didn't know. They said I should contact the Department of Public Safety, but I don't know how to get a hold of them. Anyone know anything about these laws or if we can? Thanks

I would think youd need at least to change to dot approved tires, blinkers, mirrors, horn, and so on. Some how youd need a licence plate...maybe talk to the licencing bureau.

The first thing I'd do if one was legal....I'd ride over to that ATV hating newspaper (Mpls Star and Tribune) and do some nasty "Mad-Max's in their parking lot. Uhum, I mean I would very politely and repsonsibly ride past waving ....um, ya I'd be waving something at them. Hmmm, that could be the site for the first annual street legal ATV rally.

That would be nice if you could make one street legal.
Only down side is it wouldn't be much of a atv anymore.
Just a 4 wheel streetbike. But heck if it could be done i'd do it.

I see street legal atv's here and there in the magazines. I wouldn't ask if it's legal to make an atv road legal. I would go to my local legal library and see what they consider to be legal. How it is written in law books. It may say that it must have this, this and this. You do this, this and this as it is written and it'll be legal. While you're at the library make some copies of the laws to show to the police for when they pull you over.
