Let me start by saying I'm not a Honda man and As much as I'd love to bench race with y'all the reason the 400ex has so many fans is that Honda makes polished, high quality machines without glaring weaknesses. In the case of the 400, torquey, useable power, typically crisp Honda handling geometry and suspension that works so well you don't have to think about it. Even if its all in a decidedly low-tech package it all works together so well that you can think about the business at hand which is riding the thing.

hey dumb @$$. there is no way in hell that your little 400 is gunna have better top end than my ds 650. you think its a piece of crap. well bring it on. i will drag race your sorry 400 any day of the week and leave you in my dust. another thing. are you retarded? i mean do you know anything about quads at all. if you did you sure wouldnt write posts like you have been. and have you ever actually ridden a ds. probably not because if you did you would never want to get on your wimpy quad again. by the way my ds will do 82mph top end what does your 400 do. thats what i thought.

 

Good point Gabe, The rider is very important to the mix, however, I don't feel this is any great revalation on your part because most people who ride already know this. Just my opinion, hoped it helped?

 

Lots of good posts on here and lots of hot air, Arizona said it right about the 400ex, when i ride it, it all works for me, it does not have any glaring weak points that you can point out. Just because it cant beat a Banshee or DS in a drag the Honda haters try to amplify this and make it something bigger than it is. I think if the rider is up to it, this quad can tough to beat. I believe as an overall quad it is the best out there, not including the Raptor which i haven't seen or ridden yet. Top speed and drag racing is cool but thats all a side show for me. When thats over go for a real ride. Show me the best Jumper, the best over woops, the fastest through trails, the best handling, great for wheellies. Well i got a 400ex back in March and i think it is ALL THAT

I would hope that your DS650 would be a little faster on the top end than a 400ex. Lets see, you only got 250 cc's more than him.
However, if you wanna race on an MX course against a 400ex, what do you think would happen? You would get smoked.
Now for drag racing, since you are so fast, wanna race my 250r? We will drag race, then XC race, then a little MX, a circle track, maybe a TT, and the R will kick your DS's *** in every one of them.

that was a really good one lol iv heard all good things about the 400ex and it don t have to do 90 mph its a honda people love the 400ex because its a big sport quad that handle's like no other wheelies great and its stable and its a honda you don t have to worry about haveing to pushing it home!!! tricked 86 4trx and 86 atc 250r
