How would a 440ex stand up against my Raptor. I've never had experience w/ one.

with the 90 pound pilot that rides mine it would be fun for you, i've seen them with alky as a fuel and they would make your raptor look slow that stuff wakes them up

The top speed on a 440EX is maybe 1 or 2 mph faster than a stock 400EX. If you want a faster top speed, save yourself some money and get new chain and sprockets. With the correct gearing you might be able to hit 80 or so on a stock engine.

NO WAY is a stock motored 400ex going to be able to pull the gearing necessary to hit 80. It struggles to hit the rev limiter in stock form with the stock gearing.

With a properly built 440ex(complete port&polish, hi-compression piston and camshaft, good full exhaust, and an aftermarket carb and cdi) you should be seing mid 40's hp, and thats enough to pull some pretty good gearing, and it will have the power to hit the rev limiter with something like a 16/39 combo. That should put you into the 80mph range.

are you crazy, or am i? our stock polaris 500 will pull high 60s with stock gearing, and ive seen z-400s pull low 70s bone stock gearing and all. are you sure you couldnt regear one to go 80?

Hit 80 going downhill maybe. Take a lot to go from the stock 68 to 80mph.

Added hp and gearing changes.
