If you have a Banshee with pipes, jetted ,air filter, and boost bottle, can you outrun the major 4 strokes of today?
Like the 450's and the DS 650 and the rappy 660?

 

I do, I think you should be asking the question the other way around.

 

depends on the mods the four stroke has. theres some pretty fast DS's and Raptors out there.

 

I raced my brothers shee with my Ds. Both of us are equal weight and rider ability. His shee had the T-5's, boost bottle, k+n, and reeds. My ds was piped and jetted. I was able to beat him by 1/2 quad length to 1 1/2 quad lengths ever time.

With that said. I have been beat by piped banshees. Not with current mods but with pipe and jetting only. So it all depends on the bike and the rider.

Best way to figure it out is to go out and race.

 

My cousin has an 01 with fmf pipes, silencers, and boost bottle. I watched him beat bombs, cannibals, yfz's, trx's, preds and raptors all day. In fact, there was only three four strokes that beat him. A heavily modded yfz, a crf450 based quad, and my raptor.

Mod for mod or dollar for dollar the four strokes dont have an icecube's chance in hell.

 

I never thought that I would see the day that a thumper owner would say something like that. I might have to start giving thumpers credit where they deserve it. You can't get the low end torque of a thumper in a two stroke unless you build a some sort of crazy expansion chamber that made the sound waves reflect and push the gas back into the cylinder at 2000 rpms or something. If you did that though, you would loose all of your torque in the upper rpm and your horsepower would be quite limited.

 

a raptor can get 14 extra pike horsepower with jetting, airfilter, and a pipe with 30 horsepower at redline

 

What have you been smoking. May be at the crank. No way at the rear wheels. 30 extra hp with pipe, jetting and airfilter. Think again.

 

take a good look at your signature. it says it all right there.

 

racing at the dunes is also a case of getting thru the whoops, the new rides are getting a lot better suspension. and yes the 4 strokes can keep up but it cost more.
