Raptor or Z400?

Because, a bent shift fork is usually a wear issue......many times a result of landing on the shifter. Even a worn shift fork is considered a wear issue.....and there was no way to tell early on if this is what was going on, or if there truly was a manufacturing issue..... There were a few raptors I knew of that were covered under warranty, but normally the trannies didn't go out until after the warranty had expired. I'm not siding with Yamaha on this one at all, don't get me wrong, just stating what I heard and have seen......I think if they were aware enough of the problem to have updated the 2002 transmissions, then they should have done something about all the 2001's....but there is nothing anyone can do about it at this point. Just be aware if you are buying a 2001 that this is a problem.

I havn't had any problems with my Tranny yet, so what should i NOT do to make them worse...
I don't jump it, not many places around here to jump, i pretty much just trail ride with my friend's big bear 400 4x4 in gaffney, SC - although i dont like it to much cause i can't go too fast because he's got torque gearing, the clutch can get a little in the way so i enjoy opening it up on dirt roads and such.
Also...what's some "tips" i can get from y'all for maintaining my 2001 660...
ALSO......... are all the 660's "R"'s or what... cause i see the new ones with 660R on them, i bought my quad with Maier plastics so no stock stickers for me so i have no idea.
