I am soon going to purchase a USED raptor 660 or z400 and im obsessed with the raptor but ive heard the raptor dose not last and yamaha in general dosent last? alot of people are telling me to go with the Z400 but im still stuck on the raptor! so what would you pick out of these and why?

i am going to be trail riding, and drag racing, and jumping!

Knee jerk reaction is to recommend the Z for what you want.

(and I own a raptor)

 

I think the raptor is just what you need

 

dont get a crap-terd. the z-400 is better at jumping and trail riding and everything else. the craptor will beat the 400 in a drag race but the craptor is by no means a FAST drag racing atv. you never hear of craptors winning any races. for instance a banshee will put a craptor to shame on the drag strip and if you ask me they handle better and they are a lot more stable. the 450R and the yfz will kill a craptor anywhere. but if you like breaking down get a craptor

 

they are both good bikes I have a considerable amount of ride time on both. I like the raptor better simply for the fact that i feel more comfortable on it.

i own a Z and have ridden the raptor enough to know that for tight trails, jumping etc the Z is alot better.....its lighter, has more responsive and easier steering and handles a lil better overall

the raptor does have more power and more torque and takes off nicely and has good top end in my experience but its not the fastest thing out there

 

im facing the same choice. ive posted this topic on the forums before and i got mixed replies, but i was looking for the better duner, not the better trail bike. the z400 will be better handling and more stable, but the raptor will have more power for going fast and drag racing, though both bikes are fast. they're both pretty equal, so ill recommend to you the decision i made. go with whichever one you can find for the best deal. youll be happy with either.

 

yea new im hearing my favorite bike the raptor brakes down constantly wtf? i dont wanna have to throw money into everyday is this true?
