Now we are to "without a doubt". Well, if it would beat it without a doubt, why didn't it? There is a very logical explaination why it didn't, but I'm curious to hear from you why without a doubt, it would beat it, but didn't.

You know maybe he couldn't hook up and maybe that is how you supposidly beat him. I'm not saying that the predator is a bad bike so don't get you underwear in a twist. The fact of the matter is that a yfz 450 IS faster than a predator and that is what I'm talking about, which bike is just a straight up faster machine. Everyone can sit and argue about this for the next year and nobody is going to get anywhere because everyone is just going to say that there bike is faster than the next guys so really whats the point. This thread is rediculous and quite honestly just old d@mn news.

I got the whole shot on two YFZ's last weekend at my first race. One did get out just ahead of me but I beat the other two by a quad length. I was the most inexperianced rider there and the only one to be mx ing for the first time. The other 2 yfz's eventually passed me in a rythym section on the second lap.

I attend a lot of ATV races and more often than not the Predators end up with the short end of the stick. They are a great trail quad, but when it comes to racing the weight really hurts them.
Just look at the weight: YFZ 350 pounds, TRX450R 376 pounds, Predator 410 pounds.
The Predator just doesnt have the power to make up for the additional 60 pounds.
One things for sure, the Predator is a HUGE step up from the Scrambler.

Maybe the 60cc and 5hp in stock form will help that. Also, I don't know too many people that ride thier quads (at least very long) dry. Now, I know different dynos will give different numbers, but if all machines are run on the same dyno, then that's the real test. This is the only place I have found that has run a variety of machines on the same dyno and posted the results. I don't see where these guys would be biased toward any particular manufacturer either. If you look at dry weight to power ratios, based on the numbers at MJT, you will see that these 2 bikes are nearly identical with the Preddy at about 11.2 lbs/horse and the yfz at 10.9.

Now, I know the next thing everybody is going to come back with..." I know the YFZ puts out 38 HP stock, I've read it everywhere". Well, of course you have, cause that's what the manufacturer put out that it does. I've seen that the Predator does 42...so what!!! Point being, no 2 dynos are going to give the same number, and the manufacturer puts the highest one on their propoganda. Much like bow manufacturers and their IBO speed...if you're up on that.

Bottom line, these are 2 very fast and powerful bikes. The biggest difference will be what (who) is on the seat.

I agree, they both are powerful fun bikes. Who cares about all this. Atleast we all have bikes, lets quite arguing and go ride!

i really cant believe this thread is still going....kills me...i hear alot of talk about the yzf would win or the pred wold win but have any of u went to a drag strip and actually watched them? there is no debate left, the NEW predators consistently beat the yfz in the 100 yd drag that i saw.. but they were VERY close...close enough to were weight and riding skill can play a factor....but NEITHER of them are just toally dominate at the strip over the other...now the new 700, thats a whole new can of worms in its self...it consistantly SPANKED ALL THREE BIKES...(yfz,450R, pred) it is way quicker, fastest stock 4-stroke quad i have ever seen....and im not a raptor fan..but the truth hurts sometimes...ill have to deal with it..lol...props go out to the polaris and yamaha, they really stepped up this year...

Dang man, it was dead, I think we killed it good, and now you brought the creature back to life with the 700r thing...I don't have the energy, well, actually I don't have the data, so maybe it's dead again...

DO NOT RESUSCITATE

LOL
