Once the manufacturers stop making the 2 strokes, aftermarket R&D will also stop. The 250R aftermarket is strong only because it was the main show in mx town for so long. Sure, the big companies will keep their jigs and molds and designs, etc. and you will still be able to buy aftermarket parts for a while. But as each passing year goes by there will be less and less aftermarket support. Banshee and Blaster owners will be best off because there are a billion of them out there. Then again, how many people leave these things stock for very long? And who is buying several aftermarket pipes, shelling out ANOTHER 2K for a second suspension system, etc? I love the old 2 strokes also, and I really want another Banshee. I do see this part of the industry drying up though. As far as a new generation of clean burning engines, well let's just say i will believe it when it becomes a viable alternative(yes, i know BRP/Evinrude have technology and some answers.)
