If it hooks up and doesn't wheelie(i.e. has a good rider, lol) it easily wins. You also have to think about fun factor though. I like quads a lot more than dirtbikes.
Why do you like quad's a lot more than dirtbikes?

I've dragged the banshee on turf w/ a modified ttr 225 4 stroke dirtbike...I could keep up with a 300ex, 400ex, but the banshee beat everthing......A yz250 is a whole nother ballgame (way faster than any ttr225)

It is just personal preference really. I am faster on a quad than a bike, the bike requires more skill to go faster, and I am not so sure I would ever acquire that skill without breaking a few bones. When my brother picked up the YZ I really tried to give it a fair shake. It sure would be nice to sell off the quads and save a bunch of garage space with dirtbikes However, I just can't get to a point where I feel comfortable on the thing. I might give it some more seat time now that the mud season is subsiding and dust season is coming on.

Oh, and I like the 4 season aspect. Nothing like quad riding on about 3" of fresh powder snow!

i agree that banshees are a handfull on a track i used to have one and had to put suspension on it after the first race. but he manages with the stock suspension. hes actually a good rider, and just pushes that banshee to the limit. my point is though that if the rider on the bike sucks almost any quad can beat it.

Top end I can take a 05 KX 250 with a PC pipe and a twin air filter. Stock for stock its gotta be close for top end speed.

Very true...or if the Banshee rider was really good and could hit everything smooth, that would also help.

i have been racing all kinds of 125's drag and motocross and barely beating them. top end i have got them, but they are so light and make so much power its hard to win. you are on something that weighs atleast twice as much, and has just a little more power stock to stock.

So are you saying there's no way you'd be able to beat a 250 2stroke.

LMAO! I really hope you are on here just to stir sh*t up, because if not, you have crap running out of your ears. I'll run my CR250 against your modded 450R in a drag, I'll give you a head start, and I'll still outrun your egotistic ****.

MX bikes are more powerfull and lighter, do the math.
