what do u think the best trail quad would be 4 me. ive been riding since i was 4 years old. im 15 and 5'7" 150pounds. im aiming at a 400ex. but if u hav other ideas...

 

WHat kind of trails u ridin

400ex would be good for slower trails...

if u want to ride some faster stuff go for the z400

both are great bikes and both will be extremely reliable

plus u wont out grow either one very soon


just puttin it out there...banshees can be trail ridden..u just need some practice......u could pick up a nice banshee for cheaper than a 400ex and way cheeper than that z400

 

If you have the money (being 15 you may not but you never know) go for a 450. You'll have plenty of power and you're experienced enough to handle it.

 

i agree, if u got the cash the def go with a 450

and im assuming u know how to ride after 11 years...

 

You'd be happier with the z or kfx. Awesome trail quad and the advantage is reverse and you will need it. And is liquid cooled. older 400ex are air cooled. My .02

I disagree i would go with a 400cc quad.You might not need that much muscle yet.A z400 would be perfect for you.But you can get a nice used 400ex cheap and deck it out cheaper than you can get a knew quad.Just my opinion.

Just joking of course but you can get along fine without it on a 450 which is super light anyway. And it's worth nothing that 05 was the first year for reverse on the 400EX.

 

Umm im a bit confused but my brother has a 300EX and a 400EX and they are decently old like 99-00 i would say and both of the machines have reverse on them. I have used it many times.

 

not on the 400, the guy wasn't lying when he said the 400ex didn't get reverse until '05, but the 300ex has had it ever since it has been out I believe, if not, it has had it for a long time. My friends 2000 400EX doesn't have reverse.
