Scootergptx is right the 2006 DS250 was made by SYN.
Read some of the ATV mags for Feb. that just came out about the Kymco Mongoose 300 that were raced by the mag. writers at the last GNCC race. They did very well against the 400cc, in fact beat a lot of them.
As for the weight difference per mfg claimed weight.
Manual Shift lbs CVT lbs
Suzuki Z250 366 Artic Cat DVX250 485
Yamaha Raptor 350 375 Can AM DS250 429
Honda TRX300EX 373 Kymco Mongose 250/300 392
Honda TRX250EX 360 Polaris Phoenix 200 395
(TRX250EX is a Yamaha Wolverine 350 478
Semi-Auto still have to shift gears)
The Honda TRX250EX weighed the least of the manual shift @ 366 lbs
The Kymco Mongoose 250/300 was the least of the CVT @ 392 lbs which is only 26 lbs more than the manual shift.
I was told by two different local Artic Cat dealers that Kymco made the 2007 DVX250 that is when I first heard of KYMCO so I started surfing the web found out about the Mongoose 250. I bought one for several hundred dollars less that the Can AM DS250 which looks like my Mongoose 250 except for the plastic (the running gear and frame look the same except the bumper) I don't under stand the big weight difference. I know the DS250 has some difference in weight due to the plastic.

Do not know what happened the weights were broken down by Manual Shift in one column and the CVT in another when I hit the reply the columns ran together should be:
Manual Shifts= lbs
Suzuki Z250 = 366
Yamaha Raptor 350= 375
Honda TRX300EX= 373
Honda TRX250EX= 360
(TRX250EX is a Semi-Auto still have to shift gears)
CVT= lbs
Artic Cat DVX250= 485
Can AM DS250= 429
Kymco Mongose 250/300= 392
Polaris Phoenix 200= 395
Yamaha Wolverine 350= 478
The Honda TRX250EX weighed the least of the manual shift @ 366 lbs
The Kymco Mongoose 250/300 was the least of the CVT @ 392 lbs which is only 26 lbs more than the manual shift.
