Best bang for the Buck

A local dealer has an 05 Honda 450r brand new on the showroom floor for $4700 otd. Sure there have been model changes, but still, getting a brand new sporty.
If you can locate a previous year model that has only cosmetic changes that's the way I would go. I'm getting 12k off my boat and all they changed was the graphics package.

I've ridden alot of 450's. My buddies have YZF's, Honda's, and Suzuki's and in my opinion the suzuki is the best bike for your money. The Honda isn't a bad machine but in need of many mods before it is MX ready. Way too narrow and not easily controlable (not because of power, because of set up). Many people will probably disagree, but that is why I bought a suzuki after having honda's my whole life. It's bottom-mid range is untouchable and very controlable.

I think the best thing is suspesion revalving for weight and new tires. There is no point in having lots of power if it can not reach the ground.
