ok ive had a 400 ex , polaris scrambler, ds 650, and a yzf 450 , i really liked the yzf but a fella made me a offer i couldnt turn down
my 2 choices are a outlaw 525, a raptor 700. i like to hill climb and raise hell not much of a tracker but occasionally ride a track with my group, i like to get on it and hate to be in back of the pack, gettin too old to be picking bike up so reverse is a must,, can you guys give me info on these 2 bikes...really concernd with the hillclimbing for the 2 cause thats about the most dangerous thing i do,, ive been chased down abunch of hills by my own atv , but getting older and slower lol..but i gotta keep up or stay in front of my little brother lol

atvsport mag did a shootout with the 700 raptor the 525s outlaw and ktm 525. the oulaw faired as well as the raptor but the outlaw is cheaper. i would get the irs though the hillclimbs around here are on the rough and rutted side. plus i like to be different

well i based my decision on this , i have never had a problem out of any yamaha that i have ever owned, i had one polaris scramblerfor 2 days , had to return it (junk) not bashing any polaris bikes but this one i had was awful, i know the outlaw has the ktm motor in it, but just wasnt sure of the rear suspension.
best bike i ever had was a yzf 450. loved it. but no reverse and im 6'1 235 lbs., so i wanted a little taller ride,
so now im a proud owner of a a new 2007 special edition raptor 700..its pretty lol
will be reporting back with performance after i get her broke in...

the outlaw 525irs and 525s has won a couple of gncc races. polaris has proven they can win races and the aftermarkt is really taking off for it also. c t racing has some nice go fast parts for it. i like to think of it as a cheap ktm the frame and suspension arent as good as the ktm but with a 2g price diffrence with the same motor and trans.i'd get the outlaw and would'nt cry so hard when i bend something.don't get me wrong the 700 raptor is a very nice quad but the irs would make hillclimbs alot smoother than a swingarm could and 11" of ground clearance you would have more lines to pick from. but you can't go wrong with either quad
