Default 2006 Polaris Outlaw - Buy It?

I have a 2003 pred that has served me well, but it doesnt have reverse and i get hung up sometimes in the trails that I ride. When I saw the outlaw for the first time, i thought that it would be perfect.
Now i have a chance to get an outlaw for my pred + 2000$ (total 5000$) in near-mint condition. This outlaw is a first year bike.
Is it worth it in this case?

probably not. Thats an awful lot for a 2 year old bike and its just the 500. dont get me wrong, still fast but not near the 525. Keep your eyes open, you can find better deals than that.

5000 is too much for a two year old bike?
I thought it was ok
The thing is i really want a sport quad with reverse and this is perfect for me. The only thing keeping me back is the fact that it is a first year bike.
Why do you think I should wait?

I bought my 08 outlaw 525 off a guy, he had ran one tank of gas through it, it still had **** on the tires. Absolutely showroom quality, and I gave 5800 for it. I just think if you look around you could find one cheaper. Look on ebay, 06 I think go round 3500-4500. I just think it sounds much, but if you think its worth it and its in great shape its up to you.

I forgot to mention that I am in canada. Here, even though the dollar is the same, new ATV's retail anywhere from 500 to 2000 more than in the states. Its is f*cked, but thats the way it is. I would love to buy one from america, but i dont have the patients or the knowlege to deal with crossing the border.

The thing is its a first year bike. The pred that i have now is also a first year and it has a sticky trans, but its not too bad. Ive heard some horror stories about first year models. What im asking is if anybody has had any big problems or has ridden the 2006 outlaw, and can tell me that i should look for a different trail sport quad

as far as motor and tranny, they are identical to your preddy, so it is the third year for that motor and its proven and it does run good as you know. As far as everything else I think the front and rear wheel bearings were not the greatest on these irs models any of the years, except for 08 I think they fixed those, so get either after market bearings or the 08 bearings for it. There might have been a bushing issue too with some of them. I heard all this stuff was not on all the quads either, just selct ones but it showed up more than once. None of it a huge deal though.
