Duster, what's up with that um mtx450? What motor does it use? The plastics make it look like a ktm, but the motor looks more like a suzuki or honda. (The magnesium brown colour)</end quote></div>

It uses the same engine that is in the LTR450.

The difference is that it's not EFI and they have it inhaling and exhaling very well.
It might make 51hp?

The other difference is that they don't cap off the oil filter mount, so it has an external filter.

Overall... and these are my words.... the MTX450R is a Z400 with a carbed R450 engine.... at the same price as a Z400 (in my area) with a 3 year warranty....

Why I haven't bought one I do not know..... I think it is because I can't confirm what the suspension on it actually is.

Other than that it's a bad bike, and I'd be riding one now rather than talking about it...

Talking crap is what 1/2 of the people come here to do. I kinda think of it like the ATV equivalent to a forum that has Viper, Corvette, Ferrari, Lamborgini, Camaro and Mustang owners all in one place.

Sure, everyone bought their specific sports car for their own personal reason. When someone sayd that a [name car] is crap they take it personally. (as if they made the car) Everyone needs to realize that every vehicle, quad or car does something better than others (no matter how small) be it price, options, avalability, or brand loyalty to name a few to make that person buy it.

People get too butt-hurt when someone mentions that they beat someone else. People need to lighten up and let the 8 year old talk it up like he's an ultimate fighter and move on.

It is, after all, the Internet.

Oh, and for what it's worth. (I'll mention it again) the KTM525 didn't lose once, except for the streetbike-powered blaster. Take it for what it's worth.

Maybe he was racing against a 900lb three year old kid who couldnt drive?

MAybe then he could win. 415lbs+200lbs rider with 40-50hp vs 360lb quad + 900lb rider who can't even reach the shift pedal with maybe 50-60hp (depending on mods)

With equal riders, the 525 will win every time. There have been guys on 400 beating guys on 450's, but that because the 450's guys couldn't ride at all. So I would say the same with a stock Pred beating 525's, it's the rider and not the quad.

Hey gary, i noticed the XC had an fmf pipe in your pictures, but the outlaw had the stock pipe- you can't really compare the two can you?

A better comparison would be a piped outlaw vs stock XC since the XC already uses a decent high flow stock exhaust.

PS: Wouldnt it be cool if ktm came out with a 450 and 525SC (supercross) and MC (motorcross) I know they could use SX and MX, but the C is needed in there to make it sound like a family- SC, MC, and XC.
