why dont pro riders use 2strokes then? they can put them in good frames with good suspestion. i whould not give my raptor up for a lsr frames lt suspestion 250r and thats pretty much what your talking about.</end quote></div>
factory backing and sponsors pay their way, pro's run what their told to run.

What I was talking about was working from a clean slate, newly built 2-stroke engines as well as new frames and suspension. Maybe the manufacturers plan on milking this 4-stroke market until they figure its time for a new 2-stroke to change things up again, who knows, they could already be planning it, I figure that Bombardier would be the first to try something like that, because they already have the modern, clean 2-stroke technology.

Because there are rules that prevent you from doing this. Like TLC said, try racing a 450 two stroke against a 450 4 stroke and see what happens. If it was fair cc wise they should let a 450 two strokes go at it againt the 450 four strokes. But we all know what would happen; now don't we. Think of it this way. The four strokes need about twice the dispalcement to compete. The two stroke makes power on every stroke, twice that of the four stroke. See how it comes out the same?
The Shee was designed before most people on this board were born. Advance the two stroke to todays standards and see what kind of power you get.
If I ever hit the lotto, I always wanted to cast an all aluminum 600 inch big block short stroke two stroke and put it in a dragster chassise. Can you think of the noise a 600 inch V8 would make at 14 thousand rpm?!!!!

I think ever thing with a motor will have to go 4 stroke soon, the only machine that can,t is the chainsaw. It seems, light weight, high rpm and the ability to run while upside down or sideways is not a thing a 4 stroke can do as of yet.

why not get a top fuel drag engine and put in it a quad frame?

Because I've heard a top fuel engine and I've never heard;(nor has anybody else) a 600 inch big block two stroke at 14K. And I want too!!!

it whould be crazy. not something im into but it whould be crazy. my dream quad is the fastest quad out there that can still go though the dunes to the hill and not be towed in.

If you take the two engines and run them at the same rpm, the 2 stroke will have twice as many opportunities to actually burn fuel and produce power over the 4 stroke. That is the only reason the 4 stroke needs to be bigger. In the end a 250 2 stroke is burning approximately 500cc of air/fuel for every 450cc the 4 stroke burns. Everyone needs to quit whining about the "cc advantage" the 4 strokes have, as it just isn't there and if anything they are at a slight disadvantage. I don't have anything against 2 or 4 strokes, I have one of each in my possession as this is written. If you really want a modern day 250 racer, go buy a rolling YFZ/450R or whatever chassis and put a recent 250 engine in it. No doubt it would be a screamer. Oh wait, Service Honda WAS putting them in a 400EX chassis, but I have never seen one in use with my own eyes. Maybe they aren't big sellers? I actually applaud the race series going back to production equipment, as it keeps the cost of racing at the higher levels down somewhat.
