Trx450R or 700r
Okay to start off I'm going to buy a 450 or a 700r. I've been riding utilities and dirtbikes all my life but I've ridden my friends 400ex's and can handle them no problem so I figure I'll be fine on a fast quad. I'm not looking for only a trx either, any 450 from the 4 main companies i'll look into.
Most of the riding I do will be trail riding and open field, if it's at a track it's a track built in someones woods not a real track with huge tabletops and booters. I'm looking for the quad that is going to have the most reliability (For trail riding keep in mind) not the most speed.
I get alot of mixed answers so I figured I'd just ask on here. Some people tell me fuel injection is nothing but work and others say it gives them no trouble at all and things like 450s need valve adjustments every 30 hours of running etc. etc.

Fuel injection = no work. Let that carbureted 450 sit over winter and half the time your cleaning the carb before you get'r back out for the summer. With that said I love my yfz450 and wouldn't trade it for nothing. To me it seems the yfz has a lower center of gravity and more mid range power than the 450R but, they both have advantages/disadvantages.
It really depends on you. The feel of a 450 is "I want to go fast and not stop". They are light, and they want to go go go. The 700 has the feel of "I'm the man". The 700 has tons of torque down low and don't have to rev. Their is no short of power when your on a 700. They are heavier than the 450's so they don't have the go fast feel of a 450.
Best thing to do is sit on them both and see what you like. You won't be disappointing with either.

i have a raptor 700 and love it. i cant say enough about the quad. now that i have road with a efi bike i will NEVER buy a carb bike again. i love this bike so much i am going 2 be buying another 1 in a couple of months. these bikes are super reliable and very accepting of mods and have more mods out for them than almost any other quad out there and stuff just keeps coming and coming.

go with the trx450r, the 700s handling sucks, and just bcs its got a bigger engine doesnt mean its all around better quad.</end quote></div>
LOL this explains the engine work on your bike! Just joking with you but you need to be carfull as to what you say as the next guy might not be so nice!
