DG skid for EX
#1
I bought a DG swingarm skid and noticed it didnt come with hard rubber or hard plastic strip that the chain rides on. I'm sure i need this piece or it wouldnt be on the stock plate. is it possible to take it from the stock plate and put it on new one? how hard would it be? so far i have the bumper and the full length skid on it (which was a bear to put on) bumper bolt didnt line up well, and the other the brackets that hold skid to frame tubes seem to be not long enuff, which has some of the bolts at an angle. so far everything is holding up well. thanks for the input.

Yea I got the same swing arm plate on my ex.I was going to try the same thing,But found I didn't need it. Just keep the chain lubed and adujusted and you,ll be fine.Watch out for those rocks I allready bent this one to.1/8 inch from disc now.Gona take off, bend back and tig a piece of angle to the back top.Right behind chain adjustment skrews.Good luck.
Yeaa, that DG BAJA stuff doesn't line up verry well does it.

I have an AC glide plate on my Warrior & I had the same problem with the brackets not lining up properly with the bolts, especially with the nerf bar brackets involved. The most aggravating thing, tho is the oil drain hole in the AC. It's just barely in the vicinity of the drain plug. After enlarging the hole it still made such a mess that I finally resorted to removing the plate to change oil. Can you say "Big pain"? I solved that by getting an oil extractor that vacuums the oil from the filler hole. Presto! No more hassle & more frequent oil changing") .

re: the swing arm skid.. my previous skid was also a Baja & I must say I wasn't too impressed with the thing at all. After it finally self-destructed after many, many, re-adjustments, I now am running an OMF which seems to be far superior. It does have a nylon strip on the bottom however you chain should not be riding on this as you stated, if adjusted within specs. The only time this strip should contact the chain is when the suspension is fully loaded or unloaded, after a jump or hard hit.
