TeamBlue,
You made the right decision by buying the Banshee. I started out on a Warrior last year and needed more. This year I had to make the same decision as yourself. I purchased a new 99 Banshee and I'm extremely pleased. I have friends with 400EXs and I have rode them many times. The 400EX is a nice bike but just needs a little more power. The 400EX does have great handling and won't wear you out as fast as the Banshee, but you just can beat that arm pulling power of the Banshee 2-stroke.

I have added FMF pipes, Pro-design cool head, Boyseen Reeds, clutch kit, Pro-design timing plate ( advanced +3 ), and a Easy Pull Clutch Lever by MSR. With this setup I have all the low end power a person needs.

Have fun and go kick some Honda butt.

Hey Vite....
I love my Banshee, it's everything I hoped it would be. I want to modify it as you did and am interested to learn how you like your setup....pipes, head...etc. And why feel the need to change the clutch lever? Just curious. And for the investment...are you happy with the power increase over stock? Let me know.

TeamBlue,
I have Paul Turner Mid-range pipes, coolhead with 21cc domes, Boyesen Power Reeds, and a Proflow filter setup with a foam filter and outerwears, no airbox lid. Performance gain isnt the word. I feel like I am riding a completly different quad. Amazing bottom end, explosive mid range, and a top end that just keeps pulling. This is the great thing about a 2-stroke. They respond very well to mods. I to own a warrior, I have lost all respect for it or any other quad that I ride for that matter. Nothing can even compare to the super quick acceleration and the pure power of the 'shee.

I added the Easy Pull lever because I race Cross Country. Endurance is the main issue in this style racing and I try to make life easier on myself. The easy pull does what it says. It is easier to pull.

I had my stock Banshee for about three months before I did all the mods. I wasn't bored with the stock Banshee yet but all my friends had mods on their Banshees. I didn't like being beat so I made the plunge. We did all the mods in one week and I took the quad out that weekend. WOW. I am well pleased. Estimated horse power increase was about 18. You can really feel it. I can't believe the difference.

I mostly trail ride with about 10 dune trips a year to Little Sahara State Park in Oklahoma.

Here is the list of mods.
1. REMOVE SNORKEL FROM AIRBOX LID. INCREASE IS ABOUT 3 HORSEPOWER.
2. Pro Design Adapter plate for airbox.
3. K&N air filter with outwear.
4. Pro Design Cool Head (Domes 20). This increases compression from 128-132 to 175psi.
5. Pro Design Adjustable Timing Plate - Advanced to +3 ( steals a little from top end give you great bottom end )
6. FMF Midrange Pipes (PowerCore)
7. Cascade Pipe Clamps ( stock will melt )
8. Boyesen Reed Kit
9. INSTALLED STIFFER CLUTCH SPRINGS!

Life is good!
