Default help on a sport quad

hi evryone, im new to this site but i have been reading around. So heres my question, my buddy recently bought a Honda TRX700 and he already has a Honda 450 dirtbike both are 2009 models.
Im am sure about getting a quad, im condidering a 450 but the guy at the dearship said a 2009 Polaris 525 with a KTM motor will be good for me(which i liked).
i will mainly to trail rides and sand dunes so i was thinking a KTM 450xc or a Honda 450.. what do you guys think? im 19, 5'9 200lbs
i have expeirence riding quads so im looking for something light, fast, and can keep up/ beat his 700XX...we alway compete!

no but dont see alot of them where we ride guess maybe because they are a little pricey. when we go to pismo dunes I see maybe 1 every 4 times we go have drag against them and cant see any difference we beat them everytime and thats a Z400 against it granted I have a little money in the 400 but not like the $$ they paid for their ktm here the dealer wants 10K-12K for the ktm I cant see spending that kind of money I like to buy used. you can buy a nice 450 for 4K to 5K in your choice of colors

I've road with Polaris 525 with they seem alright But i think my Honda 450er could take them easily in dunes. On a trail it would be smoother because they have independent suspension. But if your looking to be faster overall than your friend buy a 450. From all the reviews I read when looking for one they said the KTM is a little fast but alot more expensive. A trx, yfz, or ltr will give more bang for your buck.( after investigating I ended up with a 07 Trx450er and love it)

IF the trails are tight, I'd go with the TRX.

If not, I would go for the LTR.

The LTR I bought got sold out from under me by accident before I had a chance to get back to finish the paperwork. The guy who got the deal later bought the house 3 houses up from me. Super nice machine, but I am glad he has it in hindsight. It's too wide for where I ride most, and costs a ton to narrow one up like Chris Borich has.

I would suggest getting a Honda trx450r or a Yamaha yz450. Both of those bike are bulletproof and hardly ever break. They do ok on gas too, unless you put a jet kit in it which will make you go through gas quicker.

You never did mention the Raptor 700R... any reason there for lack of interest?
