Default Left side not running

Here is my problem about three years ago my Banshee was stolen. About two months ago the cops called me and told me that they have found it and that I can come and pick it up. Expecting the worse I went and pick it up suprised that who ever had it keep ok care of they changed some things but that is alright most of it was cosmetic. They only thing is now the lift side is not firing. I put new plugs in it and the spark looks good on that side and the plug is wet. If I spray some starting fluid in that side it will fire. So my question is it still a carb problem or is it a motor problem. The person who had it was going to use it a bail for something so the bailbonds man checked the compression and it 118 on the left and 120 on the right. When it was stolen it had DMC pipes with a coolhead with 22 domes, with a two year old rebuild on it. The rebuild was just new pistions and cleaned up the cyclinder walls. Now it has FMF Gnarly and still hads the coolhead. please help.

If i fires when you spray fuel but not otherwise i would think it's a problem with the fuel delivery to that side of the engine.I could tell you what but i've seen a problem like this on a car i was working on when we put fuel in it would run but when we stopped it shut down. it ended up that two plugs were switched and on was the throttle body plug.

hmmm... it definately sounds like either a carb problem, or electrical.. i know that doesnt help. it doesnt matter which spark plug cap is on which plug on a banshee. get new spark plug cap ends and snip about 1/2" off the old spark plug wires and screw on the new spark plug cap ends. if that isnt it, try cleaning the carb out. good luck

i would still recheck the compression i had the same problem and i tore it down and the piston had broke the skirting and the rings were broke in like 5 peices (luckily they stayed in the piston groove and didnt scrach the walls) and it would do almost the same thing it would fire every once and i while but ran good with starting fluid
