There is a picture of a 4 stroke version in the February 2003 issue of ATV Rider, page16.

I got mine back from GT Thunder (if you didn't already know) a week ago with the new 47" wide a-arms on it. I have to take it back up to him again so he can do some work to the rear shock and linkage. Since when the shock bottoms out the airbox hits the swingarm. The reason I didn't leave the quad for him to fix now is because Sunday (dec. 22) I'll be racing the quad at it's first harescramble. I'll post the results and impression on the quad monday morning. I've also got a dyno sheet in my profile on the HP and Ft/lbs of the quad. As for how fast I'm still guessing at 80-85 mph since I haven't been able to open it up do to lack of room. No major problems with the quad I did have to loctite the kickstarter bolts do to the kickstart fell off.

after seeing the gasgas in person at the seattle motorcycle show, i've been researching it online some. from what i've found, the 300-2stroke engine has been in thier enduro bikes for at least 4 years already. it is relliable and has very smooth power delivery. the axle is made by durablue, wheels are douglass, fully adjsutable ohlins suspenders, cromoly frame, subframe, A-arms, & steering shaft, anti vibe bar mount, optional steering damper, full skid plates... etc... some parts are common to other major brand quads too & cross over. although it looks like almost every hop-up is done on this machine, there are some hop-ups out there for the motor... a jet kit, larger volume powervalve cover, case savers & a couple others.
i haven't found too much on the thumper, other than it is fuel injected and the 450 is a bored out version of the 400 found in thier bikes.

if this machine is everything that it sounds like, they will sell the heck out of it. it is a little wide in stock form for the average trail rider, but the duner & MX crowd will love it (no need to spend thousands on mods!). by every description it is exactly what a large number of us have been begging the big manufacturers to build ever since the 250R ended production. (pesonally i think it's better than what we were all begging for by leaps & bounds).... the company rivals KTM strongly in most all european markets, and i believe they may be the next big player in trail bikes here too... almost everyone i've found has given rave reviews to the gasgas trail/enduro bikes... lets hope thier quad is no exception, if it is... they may not know how many sales will be headed thier way.

there is a review in december '02 ATV sport, pg 46-48. they had some problems with the prototype, but that's part of gasgas being new to the quad world i think.

The GasGas has a faster top speed than the cannondale.
Out of the gate the cannondale gets an early lead and is quick passed by the GasGas.

Dual-Sporter hit the nail on the head. About the only thing he left out was the Razor tires all the way around on the machine and that the Ohins shocks are the big body ones. Which make them better than what you get on the cannondale moto.

I sat on the one at the motorcycle show up in Seattle. It felt pretty good. Hard to tell how it runs....all I could do was bounce up and down on it and make "vroom-vroom" noises!!!!!! Those a-arms look really stout. Actually the whole bike did. I can't wait to see one out on the dunes.
