LT500 PORTING
#11
I am currently running a 88+ top end ported by Chuck E. I dont know the specs. I bought a pipe from ct racing for this application. I dont think I could build one. sprockets: I flipped the counter shaft sprocket around. For the rear I used a old sprocket, cut the outside off and welded the center to a new sprocket. For spacing and centering. Probly not the best way but theres no good machine shops by me. I used the stock 250 radiator with two inline aluminum finned hose coolers. One on top one at the bottom.

Interesting! I've got a game plan to machine the hub and run the rear sprocket on the opposite side... but I'm not sure how that's really gunna work out until I can get the motor bolted up.
I've seen the CT pipes... I'm probably gunna roll my own. I just finished a drag pipe on my 500, and am VERY happy with the results! Big improvement over my old FMF.
So overall, are you happy with the machine? Significantly faster than a 500 chassis?
