hey guys i ride with alot of freinds we do alot of dragracing but we also do alot of trail riding sometimes at real low speeds but on the drag stripp they kill me and can hang not to far behind in the trails i was thinkin about porting and maybe boring my quad i was wonderin if anyone had anythoughts about how much i should go on the bore and porting (o and i also live in central fl so it is pretty hot down here most of the year) thanks

First try a Keihin 39mm PWK carb. I know the DG pipe came with the quad when you got it, but its pretty much the sh!ttiest pipe made. So if you get enough money I would recommend you get an LRD adjustable pipe. An FMF pipe is a good cheap pipe and much better than the DG you have now.

yea like superstar said i have a 92 lt and pretty new to 2 strokes i have had a few dirt bikes but mainly fourstrokes for my fourstrokes i get the head ktm builder on gncc to set up my z400 when i had it about 4 months and wen't threw a frame and when i sold it it was cracked again so that is why i got this 2stroke..

If you want to use it for trail riding and dragging with friends, go for Midrange pipe and porting. This will give you some bottom end with a midrange punch. Your buddies will not leave you in the dust anymore. My setup is usually used for motocross racing, and is very quick for getting a holeshot 1st thru 4th gear. My gearing is a little on the high side, but I ride in the desert "El Mirage" alot. You could also go with a Top-End pipe for pure dragging, but you lose most of you bottom end power you would need for Trail riding.

Yes you should definately get an LRD pipe first, porting with a crappy pipe wont do what youd expect. Build your motor around a great pipe is the best thing to do. If you are on a limited budget save for the pipe you wont be dissapointed. Afterwards do the obvious upgrades, k&N(30$), rad valve (110$), head mod (40$), 38-39 mm pwk carb.(190$). IF you get your bike ported you wont see the full potential without these anyway. YOu dont need to get a big bore kit either they arent as reliable, they overheat easier and if you blow your motor hopefully you have another bore left or its time to resleeve(100 + labor +new piston kit $)

I agree with Icehouse... save the boring for when you NEED it. I don't know as I would ever just do a bore on a stock jug just to increase displacement. The jug itself is more valuable to me than the power I would get out of punching it way oversize and then possibly not having the extra material available to go bigger if an unfortunate situation dictates.
Hope this helps!!
