Default lt250,,, lt500 reeds

i have a 87 lt250 and would like to get a aftermarket reed cage for it but no one makes one to fit a 87 that i can find ... i was looking and the reeds them self have identical part numbers for both the 87 lt 250 and 87 lt500 will a lt500 reed cage interchange with a lt250 reed cage.. if so what reed cages work the best ive heard good things about the v-force delta 2's but dont really know what to get.. also does a aftermarket reed cage really improve hp or torque... ive had 4-strokes all my life and dont really know much about 2 stokes... this lt250 is my new project for the winter any help would be appreciated

i have always heard the cages dont help, and they are a waste of money. Now reeds are a different story. I dont know for a fact, but i thought i would add my .02.

I had a V-FORCE reed cage in my 88 500 and it only lasted 1 seson befor it lost a peddle. Stick to the stock one....

The 250 & 500 share the same reed cage, and should interchange...
There aren't many (If any) offerings for the big reed motors as far as aftermarket cages go.
Paul turner (Duncan racing) offers one, tudors performance offers a homemade V-force cage also.

I would personally recommend that you put some good quality reed petals on your stock cage, and run it!
The stockers work very well with good reeds on them.

Put the $$ saved towards other go-fast goodies... Shave the head, pipe, etc.

Good luck
