No they wont. They may actually save you a lot of trouble. When cornering, if you cut it too sharp around a corner, the tree will hit the nerf bar(s) instead of the tree hitting square on with your tire, sending you flying...

At times they can hang up on stumps but I highly recommend them . They may very well save your rear axle and could save you an injury. Even the cheapest ones are worth having.

If you don't already know it, Quads are not like dirt bikes where you put a foot down in a turn.

Nerfs are the first mod for any quad.

They will save you and your quad from injury and damage in any riding area.

I have seen quads catch trees with their axle or wheel at high speeds.... not pretty. With nerfs you just deflect off and you’re still going.

I have seen 2 quads get tangled together, and run up the leg of a rider.... with nerfs once again you just defect off and you’re still going.

I have seen a quad rider come off the pegs on a whoop section and run over his own leg..... busted and ripped it bad, with nerfs you might still be going, maybe with your knee on the nerf straps or even half your a$$ on the nerf bars or a compete bail-out, but you will not run yourself over.

To race quads nerf bars are required by most racing organizations.

After riding and racing quads since the 85 quad racer came out and owning a least a dozen or so sport quads (all 2-stroke) in my humble opinion all quads should have nerf bars.

A post on here asked about all aluminum nerfs. Not sure if there is such an animal but would not want to come down on my knee or boot(even with my knee padding) and hit or slide off the aluminum, would rather get caught by the nylon straps, like I have many times.
