The 96 LT 80 is having a problem. It was running fine when it seemed to run out of gas. Put it on reserve and it ran good for a few then it seemed to have no power and is wanting to quit. I put more gas in and it ran but with barely any power. Feels like the belt slipping or something. There was no oil in exhaust but seems to smoking a little heavy...is that normal? I'm going to take it to dealer I guess. Any ideas or insight appreciated.

yank the spark plug & have a look. It may have oil fouled when the bike ran out of gas, but the oil injection still pumped oil.

speaking of oil.......what kind of oil do you use? cheapo oil can be problematic also.

the next thing I would check would be the air filter.........make sure its clean

this time of year, you might as well expect a week to two week wait just to have it looked at.

Thank you for the E-mails and replies, they really helped. The air cleaner looked like it had never been cleaned. The Polaris Dealership I bought it from put a new one in and it's running like a top. I also put in a new plug and will run Polaris synthetic 2 stroke oil from now on. thanks again...
