thanks mbrooks420(nice name) n vexing2. How much does the k&n make a diffrence and u said u drilled holes in you air box is it alright to just leave the top of tha air box off? oh as for the pipe and jet how much is it, i dont wanna spend alot of money on this quad jus enough to have it run with my friends 300 ex, we already raced a couple of times and he was about 2 quad lengths ahead of me. Also with the k&n filter u said u drilled holes in you air box is it alright to just leave the top of tha air box off? When i was talking about the nerf bars i ment arent u suppose to have the pegs off with just the nerf bars or u suppose to have both?please email me if u have any more ideas what i should do to my quad without spending too much money to have it beat my friends 300ex

I hate to say it out loud but, watch e-bay....I got my pipe/muffler with sparkarrestor for $75... it was brand new... I sure like the sound to...had a little super-trap with a leaky pipe when I bought it..it was LOUD!! I was going to get my carb re-built...had a quote of $75 for that to...guy said we could jet it however I wanted... I guess you could leave the top of the airbox off I just had my hands on the Dremel tool and tried it out...just a few holes made it run smoother... With my changes, it has made a difference in the mid to top end... and just smoothed the running out a bunch....

You still keep your pegs with nerfs. They just keep the other quads from crushing your legs, and keep you from feeding your leg under the wheels. You can run with no lid if you don't ride in very dusty conditions, or water. A pipe, k&n and jets should be around $200.

On the directions for the nerf bars it says remove the stock foot pegs, but it dosnt really a big deal i was just asking beacuse i thought they were suppose to taken off. Yea i kno what ther used for, the biggest reason i bought them is beacuse when i ride in my woods i dont wanna get me wheel stock behind a tree. I mostly ride in my woods but sometimes i race my friends and cuzins in the dirt road in front of my property, since its dirt it does get dusty so is that alright for my filter? What are jets and where can i find them and also a pipe and what kind should i get?
