I talked with the dealer at length about this as well. The new King Quad will be push button, no levers to yank and fight with to shift or change into 4wd or full diff lock. Also, the guages will all be electronic and digital. Suzuki also hopes to incorporate a GPS system into the instument panel which will be a first. My only concern is that with a true differential lock, it is difficult to engage unless there is something to manhandle and yank on to get it into locking position.

I talked with someone, who must remain nameless so he doesn't get in trouble,,, that has had the opertunity to ride the perproduction 700 King Quad! This guy has ridden several modified 700 Prairies and he said that if the Suzuki comes out just as the preproduction one he rode it will eat up all stock Prairies and most modified ones also! 77 MPH but he had to let off because he ran out of riding room and had to turn around! I'm hoping they have strong enuf rear axles to take a severe beating, I may trade off the Prairie if they will hold up!

That would be sweet. I hope what you say is true, but I have got to believe that they will detune it just as the prairie was for safety reasons. If that is the case, the extra power can no doubt be released with a few mods.
Do you guys happen to know if there are any pictures flowting around the internet of the king quad yet?

if there is a pre-pro model that did 77 mph, it is likely that this machine was "loosened up" to see what it is capable of and yes it would be de-tuned a little before the official release. To be capable of beating a Prairie in power/speed/handling is filling some mighty big shoes.
Let's just hope that Suzuki can build a strong frame and driveline components to handle the power in this beast. I would love to have one.

Big shoes to fill without a doubt! I'm also sure it will be detuned but with any luck they won't do it with the cdi as Kawi did with the Prairie! I can't wait to get a ride on one of these King Quads as soon as they come out, I just wish I could run one for a week or so to see if it can handle the torture we put my Prairie through! I may be looking for a new quad to run in the 12 Hours of ATV America race next year and if this one can handle the beating and has the power as I've been told I will seriously consider getting one!

I was just at the dealer. I asked him about the King Quad 700. He told me it would have a 700 single, EFI, independent rear suspension, a locker, rear brakes like the prairie, and it would be a 5 speed.
Sign me up for this one if true
He told me he received this information from Suzuki's 40-anniversary celebration in Vegas.
Atv World was there as well on this weeks show. They spoke with a guy from Suzuki. He said all of the above, except the 5-speed part.
It will be on bad machine.
In addition, the dealer, who is a Kawasaki dealer, told me they are coming out with a 500 V-twin prairie.
